In three states.
Jill Stein has raised enough money through a GoFundMe page to file for a recount in Wyoming, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. The recount obviously isn't going to help her campaign (she received less than one percent of the popular vote) but may be used as a weapon to quiet people who suspect voter fraud in the future.
"Election integrity experts have independently identified Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin as states where "statistical anomalies" raised concerns. Our effort to recount votes in those states is not intended to help Hillary Clinton," claims the Jill Stein website, "These recounts are part of an election integrity movement to attempt to shine a light on just how untrustworthy the U.S. election system is."
By 'statistical anomalies' they mean battleground states that Donald Trump won.
“This is ridiculous,” said Reince Priebus on Fox News Sunday, “I think the American people know this is a waste of everybody’s time and money. We will win again for the second time.”
Jill Stein has raised close to seven million dollars, supposedly to go towards a recount, while the total cost of recounts is close to two million. Some critics have argued that Jill Stein is lining her own pocket with the recount money.
"This recount is just a way for Jill Stein, who received less than 1 percent of the vote overall and wasn't even on the ballot in many states, to fill her coffers with money, most of which she will never even spend on this ridiculous recount," said president elect Donald Trump in a written statement.
Marc Elias, a Hillary Clinton lawyer, confirmed that the Clinton campaign will participate in the recount, though CNN and the Clinton campaign were previously losing their minds over the possibility of Donald Trump not conceding the election if he lost. In a previous HuffPost/YouGov poll, 77 percent of Democrats believed Donald Trump should concede the election if he lost.
