Watch: Metallica - Atlas, Rise! (New Music Video)

Metallica have released a new music video from the bands upcoming album, Hardwired... to Self Destruct. The video is for track number two Atlas, Rise! on disc one. Hardwired is set to be the bands first double album, three discs in the deluxe edition.

The music video is a compilation of footage from the band recording the song in someone's recording studio. In the video, all band members are wearing casual clothes and some even have baseball caps on. This seems to help the band record comfortably and at the same time gives the viewer a peak into what recording with Metallica is like.

As the song gets going it's clear that Metallica won't forget about the thrash-style pace that have classic Metallica fans excited. "Bitterness and burden/Curses rest on thee/Solitaire and sorrow/All eternity," snarls singer James Hetfield, "Save the Earth and claim perfection/
Deem the mass and blame rejection/Hold the pose, fein perception/Grudges break your back" over a hammer of drums and crushing Metallica guitars.

What's not to like about Atlas, Rise!?

While the song does not match the low guitar tone of the first two releases (Hardwired, Moth into the Flame), the six minute opus is reminiscent of an eighties Metallica jam that culminates with a big guitar solo from lead guitarist Kirk Hammett. Not only does Atlas, Rise! get us pumped for the album release, it also gets us excited for the next single. We're hooked! Hardwired... to Self Destruct is set to be released on November 18th. The two disc edition will contain twelve new songs while the deluxe edition will contain an additional disc with fourteen tracks of b-sides, covers, and live versions of early Metallica songs.
