U2 guitarist The Edge recently told Rolling Stone that they are delaying the release of their new album, an album that they had just finished, because Donald Trump won the election. "The (Donald) Trump election. It's like a pendulum has suddenly just taken a huge swing in the other direction."
That pendulum was Republican nominee Donald Trump winning the United States presidential election in an epic landslide over Hillary Clinton. The win has caused many tantrums from Hollywood liberals and was quite unexpected for the group that will seemingly never stop crying racism, sexism, and homophobia.
“We just went, ‘Hold on a second – we’ve got to give ourselves a moment to think about this record and about how it relates to what’s going on in the world,'” The Edge explained, “it’s like a pendulum has suddenly just taken a huge swing in the other direction.”
Regardless, I'm sure we'll survive without another U2 album.
